A vehicle and its odometer

Everything about one vehicle in one place, from the odometer and quick actions to its sections, photo and privacy.

Tap a card in the Garage to open the vehicle. It's the one place for everything about it.

At the top

Your photo, the nickname, and the year, make, model and trim. Under it, the odometer tile shows the last reading and when you took it, like "142,318 mi · updated Sep 28", and about how far the vehicle travels in a day.

Four quick actions sit below: Log service, Glovebox, Papers and Handover.

Update the odometer

  1. Tap Update on the odometer tile, or Update mileage from the Garage.
  2. Type the reading from the dashboard.
  3. Tap Save.

You don't have to do this often. When you log a service with a mileage higher than the last reading, Carlore updates the odometer for you.

Carlore uses your last two readings to estimate how far you drive each day, and from that, when a mileage-based service comes due. Estimates always say "about". See Due and tasks.

For a boat, the odometer counts engine hours. A trailer has no odometer.

The sections

Scroll down for each part of the vehicle's story. Tap a section to open it.

  • Due next: up to three things coming up.
  • Spec sheet: tire pressure, oil and fuel at a glance.
  • Service history: the last three entries with cost and mileage. Tap See all for the rest.
  • Papers: registration, insurance and inspection with their expiry dates.
  • Recalls: when you last checked, and anything open. Tap Check now to look again.
  • Manuals: your confirmed manuals, or finds waiting for you to confirm.
  • Warranties.
  • Borrower guide.
  • Notes and quirks: the hatch that sticks in the cold, the trick for the fuel door. Notes are Owner only unless you change them.

A new vehicle's sections each show a short line and a button to begin, like "No service logged yet. Start with the last oil change."

Edit, photo and privacy

Tap … at the top for:

  • Edit: nickname, type, year, make, model, trim, VIN and plate.
  • Set photo: take one or choose one. It becomes the vehicle's picture everywhere in Carlore.
  • Change privacy: who the vehicle's identity and specs are for. See Privacy levels.
  • Delete.

Delete a vehicle

Tap …, then Delete. Carlore asks "Delete the Civic? Its papers, history, specs and photos are removed from every device." A handover package you already made stays with whoever has it. Tap Delete vehicle to confirm, or Keep it.
