Papers
Scan registration, insurance, inspection and title papers, get one nudge before they expire, and share a marked copy when you need to.
Papers are the things that expire and the things you can't replace easily: registration, insurance, inspection, the title and the loan. Carlore keeps them together, by vehicle, with the images at hand.
The Papers tab
Papers are grouped by vehicle. Anything about to expire floats to the top under Expiring soon, like "Registration · Maya's Civic · Expires Nov 14 · in 30 days".
An insurance card that covers every vehicle sits on its own, so you only scan it once.
Scan a paper
- Tap + on the Papers tab, or Papers on a vehicle, then Scan a paper.
- Hold the paper flat in good light. Your phone's scanner finds the edges for you. Add more pages if it has them.
- Choose the kind: registration, insurance card, inspection, title, loan or lease, purchase papers, or other.
- Carlore reads the text on your phone and proposes the expiry date and numbers. Check them, then confirm.
Nothing is uploaded to read it.
What a paper holds
- The page images. Pinch to zoom.
- The kind, the issuer and the numbers, like a policy or plate number.
- The dates it was issued and expires.
- Reminder: how early to hear about it, like "30 days before, then 7".
- Show in Glovebox: whether it appears on the Glovebox card.
- Privacy level.
Numbers on a paper are Owner only by default, and the images are Household. See Privacy levels.
Reminders
With reminders on, Carlore sends one nudge at the lead time you chose and one a week before, like "Registration for the Civic expires on Nov 14 · in 30 days." Papers about to expire also show on the Due tab. See Notifications and widgets.
Share a copy
Tap Share a copy to send the images through your phone's share sheet. Every copy carries the mark "Copy from Carlore · not a legal document".
A copy in Carlore isn't the legal paper. Keep the original where the law asks, like the real insurance card in the glovebox.
Delete a paper
Tap Delete paper. Carlore asks "Delete this paper? The images are removed from every device."
Keep them private
When you scan your first paper, Carlore offers to turn on app lock, so your papers need Face ID or your fingerprint or face recognition to open. See Account, support and legal.
When there's nothing yet
You'll see "Keep registration, insurance and the title together. Scan the first one." Tap Scan a paper.
