The Garage
See every vehicle at a glance, find what needs attention, and add a vehicle by scanning its VIN.
The Garage is home. Every vehicle you own is a card, with what needs attention at the top.
Vehicle cards
Each card shows your own photo of the vehicle, its nickname, the year, make and model, the odometer, and one status line:
- "All caught up" when nothing is due soon.
- "Oil change due in about 400 mi" when a service is coming up by mileage.
- "Registration expires Nov 14 · in 30 days" when a paper is about to expire.
- "Recall · 1 open" when a recall check found something.
Until you add a photo, a drawn silhouette of the vehicle type stands in.
Cards are sorted with the soonest due first, then by what you logged most recently. Tap a card to open the vehicle. Touch and hold a card for shortcuts: Glovebox, Log service and Update mileage.
The attention card
When anything is due within 30 days or 500 miles, a card at the top says so, like "2 things need attention", with one line for each. Tap it to open Due. Nothing due means no card. It's a fact, never a scolding.
Add a vehicle
- Tap + at the top of the Garage.
- Tap Scan the VIN and point the camera at the VIN. Carlore reads it on your phone, then asks NHTSA's free vehicle database for the year, make, model and engine.
- Check what Carlore filled in, add a nickname like "the Outback", and choose the type.
- Tap Save.
Prefer to type? Tap Type it instead. For a boat, a trailer or an older vehicle without a 17-character VIN, fill in the details by hand.
Where to find the VIN
- On a sticker on the driver's door jamb.
- At the lower corner of the windshield, seen from outside.
- On your registration and insurance card.
Vehicle types
Choose car, truck, SUV, van, motorcycle, trailer, boat, RV or other. Boats and similar vehicles count hours instead of miles. Trailers have no odometer, so their tasks run by date.
Your own photo
In the vehicle editor, tap Camera or Choose to add a photo. Carlore uses your phone's photo picker, so it never asks for access to your whole library. Your photo becomes the vehicle's picture in the Garage, on the vehicle screen, in the Glovebox and on a handover cover.
One vehicle on Free
Carlore Free covers one vehicle with everything else included. When you add a second, the card slot shows "A second vehicle is part of Plus" and See Carlore Plus. See Plus.
