Handover

When it's time to sell or pass on a vehicle, make a package for the next owner with its specs, papers and receipt-backed history, and nothing private.

When the keys change hands, the vehicle's story can go with them. A handover package gives a buyer or the next owner the specs, the papers and a service history they can trust, and keeps what's yours with you.

Open the vehicle and tap Handover.

Readiness

At the top, Carlore shows how ready the vehicle is to hand over, as a score, like "82% · Ready to hand over". It looks at:

  • the spec sheet,
  • papers marked Transferable,
  • how much of the last two years of service is logged, and how much has receipts,
  • a recall check in the last six months,
  • warranty papers.

Gaps are listed as plain lines, like "3 entries without a receipt", so you can close the easy ones first.

Receipt-backed and owner-attested

Entries with a receipt are marked receipt-backed, and the receipts go in as exhibits. Entries without one are marked owner-attested. Both are included, clearly told apart, so the buyer knows what's proven, like "Receipt-backed · 14 of 17 entries".

What goes in

  • A cover with your photo of the vehicle.
  • The vehicle identity and the spec sheet.
  • The service history, with receipts.
  • Open recalls and when you last checked.
  • Warranties.
  • Papers marked Transferable, like the purchase papers or the last inspection.
  • Your confirmed manuals.

What stays with you

The privacy review lists what isn't included:

  • Anything marked Owner only.
  • Costs and the prices you paid, unless you turn on Include costs.
  • Notes and quirks marked Owner only.
  • The title, registration and loan papers, which are Owner only by default.

The VIN is shown and the plate is not, unless you change the vehicle's privacy. See Privacy levels.

Make the package

Tap Make the package. Carlore makes, on your phone, a PDF for the buyer and a bundle the next owner can import. You'll see "Handover package ready." Send them through your phone's share sheet. Nothing passes through Carlore.

Handover packages are part of Plus. On Free, you'll see "Handover packages are part of Plus".

New owner mode

Bought a vehicle that came with a Carlore bundle? Open the bundle file with Carlore, from a message, an email or your files. New owner mode shows what came with the vehicle and where it came from, then adds it to your garage. Carlore remembers which records came from the previous owner, and each entry keeps its receipt-backed or owner-attested mark.
