Due and tasks
See what comes next across every vehicle, by date or by mileage, set up tasks from presets, and mark them done.
The Due tab shows what comes next across every vehicle: services, papers and warranties, by date or by mileage. Due is a fact, never a scolding.
The Due tab
- Needs attention: due within 30 days or 500 miles.
- Coming up: the next 90 days.
- Later: everything after that.
Each row shows the vehicle, the task or paper, and when it's due: "in 30 days" or "in about 400 mi". If something has passed its due point, Carlore says so plainly, like "Oil change due · about 200 mi ago".
With nothing due, you'll see "Nothing due. A good week for a drive."
Due by date or by mileage
A task can come due by time, by distance, or both, like "Every 6 months or 5,000 mi". Carlore works out each one and uses whichever comes first.
Papers and warranties come due by their expiry date. A warranty can also end at a mileage.
How the mileage estimate works
Carlore doesn't read your odometer from the car. It estimates where you are from your own readings:
- It uses your last two odometer readings, at least a week apart, to work out how far you drive each day.
- Until there are two readings, it assumes about 30 miles a day.
- The estimate stays between 10 and 150 miles a day, so one long road trip doesn't throw it off.
That's why mileage estimates always say "about". Update the odometer now and then, or log services with their mileage, and the estimate gets closer. See A vehicle and its odometer.
For boats, the same works in engine hours.
Set up tasks
Open a vehicle and tap Due next, or Set up tasks for the Outback on the Due tab. Tap + to add a task:
- Name and kind, like oil change or tire rotation.
- Interval: every so many months, every so many miles, or both.
- Last done: the date and mileage, so Carlore knows where to count from.
- Reminder: how early to hear about it. The default is 30 days or 500 miles ahead.
- Privacy level.
Presets
To start quickly, choose from presets for the vehicle type: car, motorcycle, boat and so on. Presets are Carlore's own generic starting points, not a manufacturer's maintenance schedule, and every one is editable.
Your owner's manual always wins. If it says something different, change the task to match it. See Manuals.
Mark a task done
Swipe a row and tap Done. Log service opens with the task filled in. Add the mileage and receipt, then tap Log it. The task starts counting again from that date and mileage.
Logging a matching service from anywhere else marks the task done too.
